BBC Announces Cast for New Jonathan Creek Episode

The BBC has revealed the cast for the forthcoming new episode of Jonathan Creek which will once again star Alan Davies and Sheridan Smith.

Joining the two for the new installment will be Absolutely Fabulous actress Joanna Lumley and Me and Mrs Jones actress Sarah Alexander. The new episode, titled The Clue of the Savant’s Thumb, will also feature Nigel Planner and Hasina Haque. Bottom actor Rik Mayall will reprise his role of DI Gideon Pryke.

Filming on The Clue of the Savant’s Thumb is currently underway. The new episode is the first since the 2010 Easter Special, The Judas Tree. Although fans would love to see another full series of the detective series the BBC prefers, instead, to commission one-off specials every so often. The new special is expected to air over the Easter period.
