PRESS RELEASE:
The Wrong Mans, for BBC Two, is written by and stars James Corden & Mathew Baynton as hapless duo Phil Bourne & Sam Pinkett, whose menial existence is turned upside-down by a chance phonecall and a case of mistaken identity. Their lives soon become embroiled in a world of unexpected international conspiracy and intrigue, with the mysterious Scarlett (Emilia Fox – Silent Witness, Merlin) and Stevens (Nick Moran – Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Parts 1 & 2) at the heart of the unfurling chaos.
BAFTA-winning comedy actresses Dawn French (Vicar Of Dibley, French & Saunders, Lark Rise To Candleford, Roger & Val) and Rebecca Front (The Thick of It, Grandma’s House) join the cast respectively as Phil’s resourceful mother, Linda Bourne, and Cox, the ballsy head of MI5 investigating the international plot.
Sarah Solemani (Him and Her) plays Lizzie Green, Sam’s former flame and boss in his local council job. Karl Roden (Hellboy, The Bourne Supremacy), Stephen Campbell Moore (The History Boys), Dan Renton Skinner (Shooting Stars, The Angelos Epithemiou Show), Benedict Wong (Sunshine, Prometheus), Tom Basden (Cowards, Star Stories, The Armstrong & Miller Show) and Rufus Jones (Holy Flying Circus, Bob Servant Independent) also appear in the cast.
Written by James Corden, Mathew Baynton and Tom Basden; and produced and directed by Jim Field-Smith, The Wrong Mans is a co-production between BBC In-house comedy and Hulu, executive produced by Mark Freeland (BBC) and Charlotte Koh (Hulu). It is currently filming for transmission later this year on BBC Two.
