Ant and Dec planning silent comedy show?

ITV1 Celebrities idents 2003Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly are planning to launch a new silent comedy show.

The Sun on Sunday reports that the ITV duo have had a new idea for a silent comedy and that the pair would like to get back into acting.

A friend told the newspaper “Ant and Dec had a great idea for a comedy which is completely silent. There will be some slapstick, but it won’t just be full of physical gags.”

The I’m A Celebrity presenters first rose to fame starring on Children’s BBC programe Byker Grove, later going on to front SM:TV, Pop Idol and Saturday Night Takeaway.

The newspaper adds that their multi-million pound contract with ITV comes to an end at the of the year, meaning the new programme could end up on another channel. Ant and Dec founded their own television production in 2004 called Gallowgate TV.
