Anna Crilly and Katy Wix launch Channel 4 sketch show

Comedy partners and sketch surrealists Anna Crilly and Katy Wix are to star in a new series for Channel 4 with Anna & Katy.

Airing later this year the six-part, half hour, series is a character-driven sketch show that promises to showcase the pair’s absurd and off-the-wall comedy creations. From daft TV pastiches such as ‘Rice Britannia’ an expertly observed parody of The Great British Bake-Off, to daytime show ‘Congratulation!’ where people write in to be congratulated for completing life’s minor tasks, audiences will get a window into ‘the unfathomable genius of Anna Crilly and Katy Wix’.

British Comedy Award nominee Anna Crilly’s previous credits include BBC productions Lead Balloon and Sorry I’ve Got No Head while Writer’s Guild Award nominee Katy Wix’s previous roles include beeb shows Torchwood and Not Going Out.

Produced by Roughcut Television, the series also provides a platform for some of the most exciting up-and-coming names from the comedy circuit such as William Andrews and Tom Bell, while featuring inspired cameos from the likes of Martin Kemp and Duncan Bannatyne plus some familiar comedy faces including Ruby Wax.
