ATV Choice: Midsomer Murders

Midsomer-Murders-Caroline-MITV‘s bonkers detective series returns with a new episode tonight dealing with horror films and divas.

Tonight’s episode of Midsomer Murders – titled Death and the Divas – is typically nuts. No one could accuse Midsomer of bearing any resemblance to reality and each new episode seems to delve to new levels of daftness but it still entertains millions of fans and what’s wrong with a barmy murder series? Death and the Diva‘s has a touch of Hammer Horror about it especially as the murder victims deaths resemble plots from horror films…..

When a local author is murdered – discovered with vampire like puncture marks to her neck – Barnby is dragged into the world of film. The author was writing a book on sisters Stella (Sinead Cusack) and Diana (Harriet Walters) who were stars of several B Movies (hence our Hammer Horror reference) in the 1960s. While Stella has remained in England her sister Diana has spent many years in Hollywood but her return coincides with some gruesome murders.

Midsomer Murders – Death and the Divas, tonight at 8pm on ITV1.

Starring: Neil Dudgeon, Jason Hughes, Fiona Dolman and Tamzin Malleson & guest starring Sinead Cusack, Harriet Walters, Caroline Munro, Anna Wilson-Jones, Joseph Beattie, Samuel Anderson and Alice Sykes.
