Big Finish To Mark Doctor Who 50th Anniversary With Special Release
Big Finish has announced it will mark the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who with it’s own “five Doctors” audio drama featuring Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy and Paul McGann.
“We wanted to do a proper, fully-fledged multi-Doctor story for this very special occasion,” says writer, director and executive producer Nicholas Briggs, “and it’s wonderful that all the surviving Doctors threw themselves behind the project so enthusiastically. That’s not to say the first three Doctors don’t appear – we wanted to pay homage to the whole history of the classic series.” – Nicholas Briggs, writer and director
The Light at the End, a 100 minute story, will see Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy and Paul McGann all reprise their roles as (respective) Doctor’s with Nicola Bryant (Peri), Sarah Sutton (Nyssa), Louise Jameson (Leela), Sophie Aldred (Ace) and India Fisher (Charley Pollard) also reprising their roles as companions. And if that wasn’t enough there will be an old enemy back to cause havoc as well!
“Geoffrey Beevers is back to createmayhem as the Master, and there will be a number of appearances from some much-cherished old friends from the TV series…” – David Richardson, producer
Doctor Who: The Light at the End will be released in two versions. A five disc version will come with two hour-long documentaries and a Companion Chronicles (one of the Big Finish spin-offs from Doctor Who) as well. The special story will certainly be a treat for fans of the show and will give them something to look forward to.
