EastEnders producers are expected to bring in a new family later this year following a number of departures from the show.
The Daily Star Sunday quotes the saga’s executive producer Lorraine Newman who says that the new additions are ‘in early development’.
“Discussions are going on and it’s still very much in the early stages of development.” – Lorraine Newman
Lorraine Newman replaced Bryan Kirkwood – who had overseen a controversial 2 year reign on the serial – last year. Kirkwood came under fire for a string of controversial storylines and the loss of popular characters. While still early days, thus far Newman has failed to make a significant impact in turning the serial around.
