Michael Ball to host new Radio 2 show

BBC LOGOSinger, actor and presenter Michael Ball is set to return to BBC Radio 2 with a brand new show from the 20th January 2013.

The programme, which will air on Sundays at 7pm, will celebrate timeless classics and, hand in hand with the audience, explore decades of music and memories.

Michael said, “I am so delighted to be back on Radio 2 with a brand new show. I want to share with listeners my love of music regardless of its age, genre and style. I just want it to be entertaining.”

On the same date, Sunday Half Hour becomes The Sunday Hour in an extended programme that moves to a morning slot and kicks off the day’s faith zone from 6am. The morning’s religious reflection continues with Good Morning Sunday, hosted by Clare Balding for the first time from 7am to 9am.

Bob Shennan, Controller of BBC Radio 2, 6 Music and Asian Network, said, “Michael has the capacity to span a broad musical repertoire from classic light music to the greats from the American Songbook. Michael is a familiar and well-loved voice to the Radio 2 audience and, between him, Diane Louise Jordan and Clare Balding, the day will begin and end with some wonderful weekend treats.”
