Death in Paradise Continues To Perform Well For BBC One

Ben Miller detective drama Death in Paradise continues to rate well for the BBC, overnight figures for Tuesday evening reveal.

The third episode of Death in Paradise, which guest starred Cheryl Lunghi & James Fleet, had 6.7 million viewers at 9pm. The figure is the second highest the drama has attracted so far – the opening episode of season two is the highest rated episode. The BBC One drama certainly had the better of ITV’s new factual series; Great Houses with Julian Fellowes.

The new series, a shameless attempt to cash in on the success of Downton Abbey, had just 2 million viewers. Great Houses with Julian Fellowes features the Downton Abbey creator visit stately homes around the UK and doubtless ITV were expecting it to perform much better. The ITV series was beaten by Channel Four’s The Undatables which pulled in 2.7 million viewers with a further 390,000 watching an hour later via the time-shift channel.
