The Following Ratings Hold Steady

FollowingKevin Bacon and James Purefoy’s new Fox drama The Following held steady in the ratings on Monday evening.

According to overnight ratings the gritty thriller pulled in 9.9 million viewers with a 3.3 18-49 rating. How does that compare to its premier last week? Well in terms of total; viewers it dropped slightly as 10.3 million tuned in last week. But in terms of the all important 19-49 demo there was a slight rise from 3.2 to 3.3.

Elsewhere last night at 8pm Bones on Fox won the hour with 9.2 million viewers with a 2.6 18-49 rating. ABC’s two-hour block of The Bachelor mustered 7.8 million viewers with a 2.5 rating while NBC’s The Biggest Loser averaged 6.1 million, with a 2.3 18-49 rating, between 8-10pm. CBS opted for repeats all night with How I Met Your Mother pulling in 5.8 million viewers with a 1.6 18-49 rating followed by The Big Bang Theory with 8.1 million viewers and a 2.3 rating. Finally the hour was rounded off by The CW as The Carrie Diaries attracted 1.4 million viewers with a 0.5 18-49 rating. In terms of total viewers that’s a rise for the Sex and the City prequel but its 18-49 rating held steady.

As noted above The Following pulled in 9.9 million viewers at 9pm; CBS comedy 2 Broke Girls had 7.2 million viewers with a 1.9 18-49 rating followed by Mike and Molly with 6.9 million viewers and a 1.8 18-49 rating. The CW’s teen drama 90210 had another poor outing with 760,000 viewers and a 0.3 18-49 rating; a drop on last week’s figures.
