Two Hollyoaks actors leave soap

Hollyoaks Bart McQueen and Joel Dexter Hollyoaks fans saw the departure of Bart McQueen and Joel Dexter in tonight’s first-look episode of the soap which aired on E4.

Actors Jonny Clarke and Andrew Still finished filming with the soap late last year and first-look viewers saw their characters decide to go on the run after a failed attempt to steal from bad boy Brendan Brady (Emmett Scanlan).

Bart was also feeling the pressure over his involvement in the mini-bus crash last year, after Esther Bloom (Jasmine Franks) made a fresh statement to the authorities.

Of his exit, Clarke told Digital Spy: “Hollyoaks has been a great stepping stone in my career, and leaving the show is one of the hardest decisions I’ve had to make so far.

“I believe I am at a great age to progress my career further. I am excited to see what the future brings. I hope to be involved in films and some period dramas.

“I would like to thank my family for their support and would also like to thank all my fans for all the great comments and good wishes they have sent me for my future career.”

Fans watching at Channel 4 pace will see the story play out in tomorrow night’s episode at 6.30pm.
