ATV Choice: All Star Family Fortunes

Vernon KayToday’s telly choice from ATV Today is that long running game show All Star Family Fortunes.

The classic game show Family Fortunes, first went into production at ATV’s studios back in 1979 and proved to be a ratings hit through until 2002. Revamped in 2006 as a celebrity series All Star Family Fortunes continues to survey 100 people to create the all important quiz show questions.

The current series sees two celebrities and their families go head-to-head in a bid to win £30,000 for the charity of their choice. Now in its seventh year, over £1 million has been raised for a variety of charities.

Vernon Kay steps into the shoes of previous hosts such as legendary Bob Monkhouse, singer Max Bygraves and comedian Les Dennis, the latter being the game shows longest running host from 1987 to 2002.

All Star Family Fortunes, Sunday February 3rd at 7.45pm on ITV

  • FAMILY FORTUNES created by ATV in 1979 as BOB MONKHOUSE was the great host then when CENTRAL took over it was MAX BYGRAVES he was good then LES DENNIS he the longest running host. The new ALL STAR FAMILY FORTUNES is a terrible idea as famalies cant play it anymore id go back to the original format and board as it is a classic and in the usa is called FAMILY FAUD. VERNON KAY is fine hosting the show but we want ATVs family fortunes back as like BULLSEYE and CELEBRITY SQUARES and THE GOLDEN SHOT it was ATV that created the greatest game shows ever made lets see them come back.
