London Live, which is from the people behind London’s Evening Standard newspaper, will reach to an estimated 4 million homes, the largest reach of all the new local TV services.
Alexander and Evgeny Lebedev, who are also the owners of the Independent newspapers, seen off four other strong competitors to win the new local licence for London.
Ofcom are awarding licences to run new local TV services in 21 areas across the United Kingdom. This is expected to expand once the initial channels are up and running.
