Cady McClain confirms All My Children Return

All-My-Children-altCady McClain has confirmed she will be returning to All My Children when the former ABC daytime soap returns.

Earlier this week is was reported that Cady McClain was in talks to join Prospect Park’s revival of All My Children. Now the actress has confirmed on her website that her character of Dixie will be returning to Pine Valley when new episodes of the soap opera begin.

” Since word got out that AMC/PP contacted me, I thought it was best to wait a bit until I confirmed it out of respect for the fact I am still sorting out the details of the situation. However, I feel confident in telling you that I will be a part of the AMC Internet Re-boot. I am very excited about the possibilities for the show in this medium and want to help give it every chance at success…… I have a feeling the show will find many new opportunities for connecting with fans and I look forward to being a part of that as well. “I am also thrilled that Ginger Smith, who has worked on AMC for as long as I can remember, is finally getting the chance to helm the show. There are few people that know and love AMC as much as Ginger. I know for a fact she is doing everything in her power to make the show as wonderful for the long time fans as she possibly can. “Thank you all so much for your well wishes and support” – Cady McClain on her website.

Cady McClain joined All My Children in 1988 as Dixie – between July and October 1988 the character was played by Kari Gibson but was recast with McClain taking over. Dixie remained in Pine Valley on and off over the years seemingly being killed off twice and resurrected twice – the character has also appeared as a ghost!

So far the actors confirmed to be returning to All My Children are Jordi Vilasuso, Jill Larson, Thorsten Kaye, Darnell Williams, Debbi Morgan, Lindsay Hartley and Vincent Irizarry. Cameron Mathison and Alicia Minshew have confirmed the door has been left open for future returns once their schedules allow. Original cast member Susan Lucci has been approached about reprising her role of diva Erica Kane. However, her role in Lifetime drama Devious Maids may prevent her for participating in the revival.

Production on All My Children is expected to begin at the end of February but as yet there are no details when episodes will be available to watch online. Prospect Park has signed deals with iTunes and Hulu to make new episodes of AMC and One Life to Live available on both platforms.
