Britain’s Brightest Ratings Rise For Finale

The absence of Splash! boosted Claire Balding’s new BBC One series Britain’s Brightest as it reached its finale on Saturday evening.

The series had suffered at the hands of Splash! on ITV as the celebrity diving competition proved to be a lure for many viewers. However, the Tom Daley series concluded last week and Saturday evening’s finale of Britain’s Brightest was boosted as a series. Overnight figures reveal that 5.1 million viewers tuned in.

Meanwhile Patrick Robinson returned to Casualty to reprise his role of Martin “Ash” Ashford after a long absence; the medical drama pulled in 5.6 million viewers. Beforehand BBC One’s lottery show In It To Win It pulled in 5.2 million viewers.
