BBC Hunting For New Casualty and Holby City Boss
The BBC is hunting for a new boss for long-running medical dramas Casualty and Holby City.
Broadcast reports that the corporation is looking for an executive producer for the two dramas as current exec Jonathan Young looks likely to leave the BBC. Young’s two-year contract with the BBC is shortly up for renewal and it is unclear whether he intends to re-apply for the position.
Young has served as executive producer on the two dramas since 2009, replacing Belinda Campbell. From 2005 until 2010 he was the executive producer of The Bill overseeing the last few years of the drama’s run.
While working on The Bill for Thames Television, Young also had a producer credit on The Golden Hour, The Bill spin-off M.I.T and Channel 5 soap opera Family Affairs. He was also a producer on EastEnders in the late 1990s.
