Got to Dance returns to Sky 1
One to Watch: Pressure mounts in the second live semi-final of Sky 1’s Got to Dance as six acts battle it out for spots in the final.
The fourth series has seen JLS singin’ star Aston Merrygold join returning judges Kimberly Wyatt and Ashley Banjo to help with their search for Britain and Ireland’s best new dance act, who will win a life-changing cash prize of £250,000. Host Davina McCall, as ever, is on hand to mop brows, dish out hugs and challenge the judges’ decisions.
Over the past three series, Got to Dance has discovered some of the most unique and breath-taking talent the nation has to offer, with previous winners Akai and Chris & Wes forging successful careers in dance, television and film. Last year’s winners Prodijig, will also be embarking on an arena tour across the nation in 2013, where they will be dazzling audiences with their contemporary take on Irish Dancing.
Aston Merrygold says of the show, “This series is known as the ‘series of excellence’ for a reason – the acts have been incredible!”
Capturing all the action to even higher level, this series sees the introduction of Timefreeze technology for the first time on a TV talent show.
In the second semi-final this week Kimberly, Ashley and Aston remain on star-flashing duties, but the most demanding judge of all will be the British public, who decide which contestants will be continuing their Got to Dance journeys via the viewers’ vote.
Also contestants can also look forward to a masterclass from Got to Dance judge Ashley, who rejoins group Diversity for what is sure to be a jaw-dropping highlight of the night.
Sunday the 17th of February at 6pm on Sky One and Sky 3D
