Coronation Street: Headteacher Brian Packham to leave

Actor Peter Gunn, who plays headteacher Brian Packham, is to leave Coronation Street later in the year.

It has been confirmed that he will leave the street at the end of his current contract with the show. The Sun newspaper reports that the decision was “purely storyline-driven”.

Mr Packham has been a regular on Corrie since 2011, although he made his first appearance in 2010. He is currently in a relationship with Julie Carp (Katy Cavanagh) and are often together centred around comedic storylines.

It is not yet known how he will leave Coronation Street.
