Strong Ratings For Let’s Dance for Comic Relief
Let’s Dance for Comic Relief returned to BBC One on Saturday evening with nearly seven million viewers.
The opening instalment of the new series drew an impressive 6.7 million viewers with a peak audience of 7 million. Comedian Tim Vine and The Soap Stars – Dean Gaffney, Natalie Cassidy, Claire Sweeney and Ricky Groves – became the first two acts to make it through to the final.
A repeat of Pointless Celebrities drew 4.6 million viewers to BBC One earlier in the evening. At 8.10pm the lottery show In It To Win It had 5.6 million viewers while the latest episode of medical drama Casualty was seen by 5.3 million viewers at 9pm.
Over on ITV football coverage of the Oldham and Everton game had just 3.3 million viewers and ITV’s fortunes didn’t improve with dating series Take Me Out as it held just 3.7 million viewers. The Jonathan Ross Show pulled in 2.8 million viewers at 9.30pm; all in all not a stellar night for ITV.
