The Walking Dead Still Commanding Huge Audiences

The Walking DeadIt’s ratings may have slipped for the second episode of its new run but AMC’s The Walking Dead is still commanding huge audiences.

The Zombie drama starring Andrew Lincoln and David Morrissey pulled in 11 million viewers on Sunday evening with a 5.6 18-49 rating. Those figures are down slightly on last week’s mid-season premier but for a cable broadcast they are still HUGE. In fact the drop in ratings is not only to be expected – ratings usually decline across a season – but as they are so small they are ignorable.

Whether The Walking Dead will continue to command big audiences remains to be seen. Last week’s mid-season premier met with a mixed reaction from some viewers who felt it was clumsy and below standard. For now though the post-apocalyptic series is riding high in the ratings.
