Steven Weber Joins Dallas
Wings actor Steven Weber has joined the cast of TNT‘s revived and re-booted Dallas.
TV Line reports that Weber will play Governor McConaughey in Dallas starting from the 12th episode of its current second season. As Dallas viewers will know Sue Ellen (Linda Gray) was running to be governor of Texas before she lost the election when her involvement in the cover up of Marta Del Sol’s (Leonor Varela) death came to light.
Governor McConaughey is set to team up with Cliff Barnes (Ken Kercheval) and Harris Ryland (Mitch Pileggi) to destroy the Ewing family. That means the old Barnes/Ewing feud will continue past the death of J.R (Larry Hagman) but then what would Dallas be without that Romeo and Juliet-esque feud?
Steven Weber will be best known for his role of Brian Hackett in NBC’s Wings between 1990 and 1997. Weber’s long list of credits also include Hercules, Cursed, Once and Again, Will and Grace, Studio 60, Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, Brothers and Sisters and Web Therapy.
Monday night’s episode of Dallas on TNT, Trial and Error, had 2.5 million viewers with a 0.7 18-49 rating – a very slight rise on the previous week.
