ABC Eyes Once Upon A Time Spin-Off

ABC is reportedly eying up a spin-off from its popular fantasy drama Once Upon A Time.

Deadline reports that ABC is considering a spin-off revolving around the character of Jefferson/Mad Hatter as currently played by Sebastian Stan. The Alice in Wonderland character has appeared in six episodes of the ABC drama, across its first two seasons, and has proved to be popular with fans.

However, although ABC is looking a spin-off with the character it may not be with actor Sebastian Stan’s involvement. That’s because the actor is currently appearing in the Broadway revival of Picnic which is preventing his return to Once Upon A Time. So that means a recast of the character is on the cards.

But will Once fans take to a new actor in the role and will a re-cast work if a spin-off is to follow?
