Eden Riegel To Join All My Children Revival

All-My-Children-altEden Riegel will be part of Prospect Park‘s revival of All My Children in what is being described as a “guest arc”.

The actress will reprise her role of Bianca Montogomery for an unspecified stint when All My Children returns later this year. The length of the Emmy winning actress’ return to the former ABC Daytime soap has not been announced and the only details at the moment regarding her return describe it as a “guest stint”.

Riegel made her AMC debut as Bianca in 2000 and was one of the soaps most popular characters. Bianca was the daughter of diva Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) and her coming out storyline won much critical acclaim. The character was one of the few openly gay characters on daytime television and quickly became a gay icon. The role of Bianca was recast in 2010 with actress Christina Bennett Lind  taking over until the show’s television finale in 2011; it was not the first time the character had been recast. News of Riegel’s return to Prospect Park’s revival will be welcomed by long-term viewers of the soap opera.

The actress announcement her involvement in the revival via Twitter where she wrote “Thank you all for the outpouring of support today. I am thrilled to be returning as Bianca!”

Prospect Park’s revival of AMC will pick up events in Pine Valley five years after the television finale and will been centric around a group of teenagers. So far actors Cady McClain, David Canary, Jordi Vilasuso, Jill Larson, Thorsten Kaye, Darnell Williams, Debbi Morgan, Lindsay Hartley and Vincent Irizarry have all agreed to return. Yesterday it was announced that Julia Barr had also signed up to return.

It has been reported, but not confirmed, that Susan Lucci has agreed to reprise her iconic role of Erica Kane for a single episode. Meanwhile Michael E Knight, Cameron Mathison and Alicia Minshew have all stated the door has been left open for future returns for them.

Episodes of All My Children, and One Life to Live, will be available to watch on the Hulu and iTunes platforms.
