Kathy Bates To Join American Horror Story

Oscar-winning actress Kathy Bates is to join FX‘s American Horror Story for its third season.

TV Line reports the actress has been added to the cast of Ryan Murphy’s anthology series. The actress/director’s last major role on television was the female lead in NBC‘s Harry’s Law. The crime drama ran for two seasons between 2011 and 2012 but was cancelled due to ratings; while it attracted a large audience its 18-49 audience, the important demo for advertisers, was low prompting its cancellation.

Also appearing in the third season of American Horror Story will be Taissa Farmiga, Jessica Lange, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe and Frances Conroy. Storyline details are, at present, unknown.
