Death in Paradise Finishes With 6 Million Viewers
Death in Paradise, starring Ben Miller, concluded its second season with 6 million viewers.
The detective drama came to the end of its second season on BBC One last night at 9pm with a finale that out-rated last year’s conclusion. According to overnight ratings Death in Paradise finished with 6 million viewers capping off a ratings-winning second series. The drama returned in January with its best performance ratings with the season outperforming last years. A third season has already been commissioned by the BBC.
At 10pm on BBC Two Sue Perkin’s new sitcom Heading Out premiered to an impressive 1.8 million viewers. The comedy drew 1.7 million to BBC Two and a further 140,000 to the BBC HD Channel. The corporation has announced the BBC HD Channel will close shortly to allow for the launch of BBC Two’s own HD channel.
At 10pm on Channel 4 the 11th and final season of Shameless launched; the drama starring Tina Malone and David Threlfall returned with 1.7 million viewers. Across the season previous regulars such as Jody Latham, Kelli Hollis and Anne Marie Duff are returning to reprise their respective roles as the drama bows out.
