TNT To Stream Dallas Episodes Online
TNT is to offer the first seven episodes of Dallas’ second series online prior to the funeral of J.R Ewing (Larry Hagman) in the 8th episode.
The broadcaster will allow viewers to catch up with the first seven episodes, of the second season, before the on-screen funeral of the iconic character. This will allow new viewers, who will be tuning in just for the funeral episode, to get to grips with the storylines and new characters.
The on-screen funeral of J.R Ewing will see the return of original series actors Deborah Shelton and Cathy Podewell as well as Ted Shackelford. Shelton will be reprise her role of J.R’s mistress, and Sue Ellen’s (Linda Gray) nemesis, Mandy Winger – the character was also girlfriend to Cliff Barnes (Ken Kercheval) before she tired of his treatment of her.
Cathy Podewell is reprising her role of Cally Ewing; the second wife of J.R. Ted Shackelford is returning to Dallas as Gary Ewing; the brother of J.R, Bobby (Patrick Duffy) and half-brother to Ray Krebbs (Steve Kanaly). Shackelford played Gary in the original series of Dallas and spin-off Knots Landing alongside Joan Van Ark as Valene Ewing; the actress will return to Dallas later in the season. Also expected to appear in the funeral episode will be Ray as well as J.R’s niece, and Gary’s daughter, Lucy (Charlene Tilton).
The character of J.R is being written out of Dallas in a “whodunit” storyline in a nod to the original series storyline ‘Who Shot J.R?’.
