E4 Orders More Mad Fat Diary

E4 has renewed comedy series My Mad Fat Diary for a second series.

Broadcast reports the comedy, based on the real life diaries of Rae Earl, will return for a second six-part series. My Mad Fat Diary features Sharon Rooney as Earl and also stars Claire Rushbrook, Ian Hart, Nico Mirallegro and Jordan Murphy.

It premiered on E4 in January and has won praise from some critics especially for portraying issues such as mental health a new way. So far the comedy has averaged around 500,000 viewers per episode.
