Michelle Collins fire scenes “frightening” to film

Coronation Street actress Michelle Collins has spoken about filming the upcoming Rovers Return fire.

The fire which engulfs the pub next week leaves a number of regulars fighting for their lives, one of them being Collins’ character Stella Price.

One character will die although who that is has not been revealed by street bosses. New promo pictures released today show Stella and Sunita (Shobna Gulati) in the flame filled Rovers.

“It was quite frightening. I didn’t think it would be as scary as it actually was! I tried not to think about it, which was a good idea.

I spent my time talking to the special effects team instead. I did feel very protected by everyone there. There were lots of firemen there and lots of people safeguarding.” – Michelle Collins speaking to the official Corrie website

The fire is being billed as one of the soap’s biggest storylines since the 50th anniversary tram crash in 2010.
