Celebrity launch for Ideal Home Show

Idea Home Show, 2013

Crowds gathered in anticipation outside Earls Court this morning and watched Celebrity Ambassadors George Clarke, Melinda Messenger, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen and Alan Titchmarsh officially cut the ribbon to declare the 2013 Ideal Home Show open alongside special guest John Challis – best known as car dealer Boycie from Only Fools and Horses and a Del Boy look alike.

The special guests were at the show to celebrate the unveiling of the ‘Only Fools and Horses’ Ideal Re-fit, which sees the Trotter’s famous Peckham Council flat from the TV series get a modern day face- lift. The Ideal Re-fit is part of the show’s initiative to show people how to make the best use of space in urban flat spaces.

Held over 18 days, the Ideal Home Show 2013 is the largest consumer home show in the events calendar packed to the rafters with interior inspiration, home improvements, show gardens, technology, food & Housewares, shopping and a pampering Ideal woman section, fronted by ambassador Melinda Messenger.

As the doors were unlocked, visitors rushed to the ‘Ideal Village’, visiting the famous full scale show homes on display which includes The Prince’s House, styled by House Beautiful and the Low Cost Living House.

Crowds also gathered to see the world’s first unveiling of the ‘Quiet House of the Future’ – a showcase by Quiet Mark of the quietest technology and solutions to reduce unwanted noise in home, work and everyday living environments.

The 105th Ideal Home Show will open its doors for 18 days from today through to the 1st April 2013 at London’s Earls Court with access between 10am – 6pm daily and late night Thursdays until 9pm.

  • Disappointing. Only one house available to look at due to one not being finished or as the customer services informed us the Princes Trust house had to be cleaned up ready for the freeloader’s and press party, the paying public came second. With the shortened hours there was not enough time,if you took in all the presentations
