Loose Women presenter Vorderman injured in stair fall
Carol Vorderman has broken her nose after falling down a flight of stairs while wearing four-inch heels.
The 52-year-old presenter ended up in hospital where she had to have surgery on her face following the incident.
Vorderman revealed that she feels “like a complete idiot” after running down the steps with her hands in her pockets following a meeting in Central London on Thursday.
She was promptly taken to hospital by boyfriend ex- Red Arrows squadrom leader Graham Duff.
“I feel OK but, because I had my hands in my coat pockets while I was running, I had nothing to break my fall except my head.
“I really do look like I’ve done eight rounds with Muhammad Ali.
“The bruising round my eye has reached its peak. I have stitches in my forehead and left eyelid. I am just counting my blessings that I didn’t damage my skull or the left eye itself…” – Vorderman, quoted by PA
Vorderman has had to cancel TV appearances whilst she recovers from the incident. She is currently one of the anchor presenters of ITV1 panel show Loose Women, as well as fronting a new cookery show for the channel Food, Glorious Food, but is perhaps best known for her words and numbers skills on Channel 4‘s Countdown from 1982 until 2008.
4″ heels, that’s the outcome of todays fashion. Carol I thought you were sensible so how about some sensible shoes.
Hilarious! That will teach the smug cow.
Did she land on her conundrum?
It’s the way a’ tell ’em.
I loved Dame Edna telling her off for wearing heels! LOL
