more! magazine to end after 25 years
Female lifestyle magazine more! will publish its last issue tomorrow after parent company decide to suspend publication blaming the “economic downturn.”
The magazine launched in 1988 and currently priced at £1.50 has a weekly circulation of 92,459 in the last six months to December 2012. Bauer Media said ” [more!] is a well-loved brand which, throughout its impressive 25 year history, has touched, entertained and informed generations of young women in the UK.”
“The prospect of continuing challenging economic conditions has led us to reach this decision as the title has become unviable.” – Paul Keenan, Bauer Chief Executive
more! is perhaps most famous for its long-standing ‘position of the week’ feature which has provided readers with 25 years of inventive tongue-in-cheek sexual positions. TV presenter Vernon Kay and actress Sienna Miller were both regular more! models back in the 90’s.
