Nick Grimshaw takes Radio 1 on Breakfast Show Tour

BBC Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw today announced that he will be hitting the road this Spring with a number of artists and special guests for his first ever BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show Tour.

Nick says, “I can’t wait to go wild on tour with some of my favourite popstars and it’ll be great to meet the good listeners of Radio 1!”

During the four date UK tour Nick will broadcast special shows from previous Big Weekend host cities, including Bangor, North Wales on Monday, 29th April, Maidstone on Thursday, 2nd May and Swindon on Wednesday, 8th May.

As part of the build-up to Radio 1’s Big Weekend Derry~Londonderry 2013, Nick will broadcast the final show in the tour live from the city on Monday the 13th of May.

During the tour Nick will be joined by special guests for live performances and chats; with 2012 X Factor semi-finalists Union J set to perform at the first date in Bangor. Other guests set to make an appearance appear during the tour will be announced on the Radio 1 Breakfast Show with Nick Grimshaw in the coming weeks.

Grimmy will be going back to the classroom and presenting his show from local schools, in front of an invited audience on the Bangor, Maidstone and Swindon dates. The final show in the tour will come from Radio 1’s Academy in Derry~Londonderry, which is opening its doors from 11–17 May to offer a range of inspirational workshops and sessions to local young people.
