Bluestone 42 gets another series
BBC Three comedy drama Bluestone 42 has been recommissioned for a second series.
Zai Bennett, Controller of BBC Three, announced today that the critically acclaimed comedy drama about a bomb disposal unit in Afghanistan will be back for a second series following a successful first run.
Written by Richard Hurst (Secret Diary Of A Call Girl) and James Cary (Miranda), Bluestone 42 follows the fortunes of a bomb disposal unit in Afghanistan – the camaraderie, bonds and banter they share as they go about their high-risk jobs. The series was carefully researched and informed by serving and former members of the armed forces and military experts.
“I’m incredibly proud of this bold, brave and hugely funny comedy drama series which has been enjoying big audiences on BBC Three. The cast, crew and writers have played an absolute blinder in this important series which completes and complements BBC Three’s already extensive coverage of the war in Afghanistan.” – Zai Bennett, Controller of BBC Three
The six part series is produced by BBC In-house Comedy.
