Sewing Bee gets second series

BBC TwoGreat British Sewing Bee will return for a new series next year.

The upmarket reality show, which culminated last night with 81-year-old Ann being crowned Britain’s best amateur sewer, will return next year after a successful first run. Last night’s final attracted to 2.7 million viewers to BBC Two.

“I’m delighted that BBC Two viewers have taken this series to their hearts. It has proved that an ill-fitting zip or badly placed dart can make for compelling television in much the same way as a soggy bottom on Great British Bake Off and I can’t wait for the next series.” – Janice Hadlow, BBC Two Controller

The Great British Sewing Bee is hosted by Claudia Winkleman.
