Bets are already on for JLS’ ‘What Next’

JLS travel with EasyJet to the Liverpool Mobo awards 2012

After five years busy flogging 10 million records, 1.5 million gig tickets and notching up an impressive five No 1 singles, five Mobo’s and two Brit awards, JLS are bowing out after one final money spinning tour. While their success has led to several spin-offs including their own condom range, Paddy Power is speculating on just what might be next for the quartet.

A Paddy Power spokesperson said: “JLS RIP. Quite why you’re breaking up we’re not sure, after all it didn’t do the Rolling Stones much harm sticking it out. However, whether it’s the circus, a career in agriculture, contraceptives, Eurovision or TV, it seems there are plenty of options open to you and we look forward to your next move.”

Whether they like it or not, breaking up fires the starter’s gun on the race to a solo No 1 single. Paddy Power have installed Aston the 11/10 favourite to get there first, while Oritse and Marvin are a furlong behind at 3/1 and JB the current 5/1 also ran.

But fear not JB. If singing isn’t your thing, Paddy Power reckons a career in presenting might be the ticket and is offering 3/1 for you to land a gig presenting a frothy teen show or music channel before too long.

And with the X Factor floundering and Tom Jones looking a touch shattered, who knows, there could well be a Saturday night judging spot up for grabs before too long. In fact Paddy Power is offering 4/1 for any of the boys to become a permanent judge on this year’s X Factor, while it’s 7/4 to take the reins of one final masterclass with any of this year’s acts.

However if Cowell doesn’t call, perhaps after seeing all those energetic flips and acrobatics the circus might – currently 20/1 with the bookmaker. Also at 20/1, is for the boys to bring out a ‘new and improved’ contraceptive range following their rampantly successful condom range. Much more likely however is the 5/1 on offer for JLS to go all Spice Girls and endorse an official ‘JLS: The Musical’.

Elsewhere, following JB’s recent appearance on BBC’s Countryfile, Paddy Power is offering 100/1 for the young farmer to become the Minister for Agriculture and Rural Affairs during his lifetime.

Alternatively, Paddy Power is offering:

– 2/1 for the Saturdays to be the next band to split

– 8/1 for JLS to represent the UK at Eurovision by 2020

– 8/1 JLS to reunite by the end of next year

– 20/1 for any member of the band to be knighted by 2020
