Winehouse, Jackson and Cobain united in song

The much loved pop stars Amy Winehouse, Michael Jackson and Kurt Cobain have been immortalised in a controversial rock promo by star Chris Kendall.

A YouTube sensation has earned the adoration of thousands of music fans with an edgy rock hit that name-checks the biggest, deceased names in pop and rock.

In ‘Bigger Dan God,’ YouTube star Chris Kendall sets out the perfect line-up for his imaginary super band. Reading like a Who’s Who of infamous performers, Kendall asks for Hendrix on guitar and Keith Moon on drums, with support from Steve McQueen, Kurt Cobain, Amy Winehouse and Biggie Smalls.

Wearing angel wings and flanked by hooded dancers, he boasts that he’s ‘bigger dan God, Bieber and Rihanna, Google and Facebook, Gaga and Obama,’ picturing heaven as a rave starring Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, James Brown, Elvis, John Lennon, Freddie Mercury, Frank Sinatra and Ian Curtis.

Kendall performs ‘Bigger Dan God’ in his role as Carl Nugent, lead singer of The Chaos, ‘the most dangerous band in Camden’ in a new online comedy series of the same name. The Chaos follows the rise and fall of a band at war with their record label, writing and performing increasingly risky and offensive songs in an effort to get themselves fired.

Kendall said: ‘Carl is very much the moody arrogant rock and roll type. Something I found difficult to get into, seeing as I’m a bit of a hyper idiot in real life.’ On his own musical tastes, he said: ‘I don’t listen to any music I’m embarrassed about. As one of MANY directioners, I and nobody else should be made to feel ashamed of listening to such a beautiful band.’

Dan Skinner (best known as Angelos Epithemiou) and Jeff Leach star alongside Kendall in the five part series.
