Channel 4 game show for Mel Giedroyc

Mel Giedroyc at STVChannel 4 today confirmed the speculation that Mel Giedroyc is to present new daytime game show called Draw It!

While you may think it sounds like a return for old ITV game show Win, Lose or Draw!, the paper and pens have been dispatched for the latest in technology.

Using the Zynga produced Draw Something game, the new multiplatform show will come to our screens early this summer.

Mel says: “Everyone loves a bit of doodling. As I speak I’m doodling and look what I’ve drawn – Alan Carr on a horse. I can’t wait to doodle with the contestants and celebrities.”

Each week, two celebrities will enter the Draw It! studio to help contestants win the cash. With new contestants daily, they’ll be having their own doodle duel, trying to rack up as many wins over the five days as possible.

Each show will see two teams, made up of one contestant and one celebrity, go head to head as they battle it out in three rounds of drawing challenges in an attempt to win £5000. Against the clock, teams will need to be quick and tactful as they play for the all-important points – the contestant with the least amount of points after three rounds will be eliminated. To win the cash, the remaining contestant and their celebrity partner will play together in the final round, which will test their sketching skills against a 90 second clock. If the celebrity identifies five drawings correctly, we have a winner but if they fail, the cash is locked and rolls over to the next show.

Over 8000 people applied to be the show, many of whom did so through the Draw Something App. Draw It! will also give viewers a chance to submit their own creative masterpieces – details to be announced over the coming weeks.
