CNN new breakfast show announced
CNN has announced its new breakfast show to begin in June.
The cable news network, which struggles against its rivals, will launch a new breakfast show called ‘New Day.’ It will be hosted by Chris Cuomo and Kate Bolduan and replace current morning show Starting Point.
Chris Cuomo was poached from ABC News and began working for the network this year. He has already anchored some of the biggest events of the year such as the election of Pope Francis and the Boston Bombings.
Michaela Pereira will also join the programme from KTLA in Los Angeles to be the main news anchor. New Day will come live from CNN’s studios in New York from Monday 10th June.
Starting Point first aired in January 2012 and was anchored by Soledad O’Brien until March 2013. That show was the replacement for American Morning which had various anchors and like all CNN breakfast shows, struggles in the ratings battle with its competitors.
Early Start will continue from 5am – 6am hosted by John Berman and Zoraida Sambolin.
