David Beckham bestowed Philanthropist Gong
Football player, brand name and general hunk David Beckham will join Eva Longoria at the third annual Global Gift Gala, taking place at the Four Seasons Hotel George V Paris to receive a prestigious award.
David will be honoured with the Global Gift Philanthropist Award in recognition of his personal and professional commitment to helping those in need through his work with the Malaria No More UK Leadership Council, UNICEF and his role as patron for the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
The event will be hosted by Honorary Chair of the organization, Eva Longoria and event Co-Chairs, entertainer Nikos Aliagas and founder of charitable organization The GREAT Initiative, Karen Ruimy. All funds raised at the event will benefit both The Eva Longoria Foundation and The GREAT Initiative.
Eva Longoria said; “The Global Gift Gala Philanthropist Award recognizes prominent figures who dedicate their time and energy to helping those in need. David has worked extensively with a number of charities and we are delighted to be able to honor his humanitarian work at this special event.”
The 2013 Global Gift Gala Paris will be the first of a series of Gala events taking place worldwide throughout the year and benefitting its Honorary Chair’s foundation, The Eva Longoria Foundation along with The GREAT Initiative as the chosen additional beneficiary charity.
The GREAT Initiative, which was founded by Mariella Frostrup and Karen Ruimy, provides financial and organizational support to women working at a grassroots level to improve gender equality in their communities. In addition to Eva Longoria, David Beckham, Mariella Frostrup, Karen Ruimy and entrepreneur Farhad Moshiri, singing sensation Lara Fabian has also been confirmed to attend and perform the event. Further celebrities, high profile influencers and A-list award recipients are due to be announced over the coming weeks.
The highly anticipated event will feature a red carpet and cocktail reception, entertainment, dinner, tributes to award-winners, a live auction and special performances, with luxury Swiss Watch and jewellery maker Chopard as a supporting contributor to The Eva Longoria Foundation. Special ticket packages including individual tickets, VIP and Gold tables are available for this unique fundraising event.
