Jemm Two launches with indie, rock and alternative music
Yesterday the Jemm Media Group launched its second interactive radio network, Jemm Two. The company boast that the station will feature the best indie, rock and alternative music.
Described as the love child of XFM and 6 Music and aimed at festival-goers, Jemm Two showcases the best from the band, indie and modern rock scene in the UK and the States.
The network went on air at 7am on May 1st with presenter Matt Crabb who opened with Blur’s chart-topping classic, Song 2.
The network mixes established bands with new and unsigned groups and solo artists. Unsigned bands can upload their tracks and potentially get airplay on the station, together with promotion through Jemm Two’s live gig guide.
The Jemm Two playlist includes the cream of festival headliners including Bastille, Biffy Clyro, Chvrches, The Pigeon Detectives, Stornoway, Canopy Climbers, Findlay and Paramore, with a hefty slug of classics from the likes of Oasis, Red Hot Chili Peppers, U2, The Jam, Weezer and The Killers.
The presenter line up include Lolie Ware, Glen Scott who is still at University in Portsmouth; singer songwriter Frankie C, radio newcomer Jack Luckett and Nick Weymouth, the music marketing and digital guru who works with Queen.
Jemm has hired Sony award-winning producer Robin Crowley as Managing Director of its new radio services division, which includes Jemm One and Jemm Three (launching May 29). Crowley, formerly Programme Controller of GaydarRadio, heads a six strong production team.
The stations are broadcasting from state-of-the-art purpose built studios at Jemm’s UK offices in West London, producing 360 hours of original programming a week.
