ABC Axes Body of Proof, Happy Endings and More

ABC has axed several shows including Body of Proof, Malibu Country and Happy Endings.

The cancellation of the shows should come as no real surprise; all were tipped for the axe or were labelled as “bubble shows” meaning their futures were less than secured. There is some good news for Happy Endings fans as ABC Studios and Sony Pictures Television are in talks with USA Network about a possible move. Given that Courtney Cox comedy Cougar Town successfully moved from ABC to cable earlier this year there’s a strong chance Happy Endings could follow suit.

The axe of Dana Delany and Jeri Ryan drama Body of Proof should come as no real surprise; it has always been a bubble show and the fact it made it to three seasons has surprised many – a fourth series was always a long stretch for the struggling forensic drama.

ABC has also axed Malibu Country, How to Live with Your Parents for the Rest of Your Life and Red Widow.
