Jonathan-Rhys-Meyers-Tudors NBC and Sky Living have unveiled more details on their drama series, Dracula, starring Golden Globe winner Jonathan Rhys Meyers of The Tudors. (pictured).

The series, a provocative new re-telling of the classic Bram Stoker novel, also stars Jessica De Gouw, Katie McGrath, Thomas Kretschmann, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Nonso Anozie and Victoria Smurfit as series regulars.

The 10-episode series re-introduces Dracula as he arrives in London, posing as an American entrepreneur who maintains that he wants to bring modern science to Victorian society. In reality, he hopes to wreak revenge on the people who ruined his life centuries earlier. There’s only one circumstance that can potentially thwart his plan: he’s fallen hopelessly in love with a woman who appears to be the reincarnation of his dead wife.

Based on a script by co-executive producer Cole Haddon, Dracula will be executive-produced by former president of HBO Films and Emmy winner Colin Callender for Playground, Tony Krantz for Flame Ventures, Emmy and Golden Globe winner Gareth Neame for Carnival Films, Dan Knauf, and Universal Television.
