Sophie Austin joins Hollyoaks

Actress Sophie Austin is to join Hollyoaks, playing the fiancee to Joe Roscoe (Ayden Callaghan).

Lindsey Butterfield will arrive in the village in June and is described as ‘feisty’. She will be working as a junior doctor at the local hospital alongside Dr Paul Browning (Joe Thompson). The arrival comes a few weeks after the Roscoe clan make their full debut on-screen.

Heading up the new family is Sandy Roscoe, played by former EastEnders actress Gillian Taylforth. Two of her sons have already been causing mayhem in Hollyoaks, Robbie (Charlie Wernham) and Freddie (Charlie Clapham).

Joe, Ziggy (Fabrizio Santino) and Jason (Alfie Browne-Sykes) arrive next week.
