Tulisa Contostavlos quits X Factor

X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos has confirmed on Twitter that she won’t be returning for the new series.

Tulisa ended months of speculation regarding her future on the show saying that it was time to “do something different.” She joined the X Factor in 2011 alongside Kelly Rowland, Gary Barlow and Louis Walsh.

“Just wanted to let you all know that I won’t be part of the X Factor panel this year. I’ve had a great time on the show, but this year it’s time to do something different.

I’d like to thank everyone on The X Factor for two amazing years. Stay tuned as I have a very exciting announcement soon!” – Tulisa

Tulisa mentored the groups in the first year, going on to win the competition with Little Mix.

Her confirmation today comes as Louis Walsh told Irish broadcaster RTE that he and fellow judge Gary Barlow are returning and that Sharon Osbourne is likely to join them.

The tenth series of the X Factor returns to ITV this summer.
