Former Brookside actress Jennifer Ellison has signed up to present a show on Liverpool’s Radio City 96.7.

The station say they aim to bring a touch of glamour to Sunday mornings with the addition of local personality Ellison who is best known as Emily Shadwick in Channel 4’s soap Brookside, appearing from 1998 to 2003.

“Liverpool lass Jennifer,  is not completely new to radio as she has previously released 2 singles when she pursued a pop music career following her television appearances. Her time in the limelight has seen her appear on Hell’s Kitchen, which she went on to win, a travel documentary and more recently Dancing on ice where she reached the semi-finals.” a radio station statement said.

Dave Kelly who hosts the stations Drive time show every weekday from 3-7pm will co-host the show alongside Jennifer.

Their first show is this coming Sunday, – May 26th.

Station Director Richard Maddock adds “Jennifer’s warmth and glamour will be a great addition to the show, complimenting Dave’s cheeky charm!”

The show airs from 6am for four hours on Radio City 96.7 across Merseyside. In November last year a 30th anniversary Brookside DVD was released with a selection of best episodes.
