STV Player arrives on Samsung Smart TV

ITV Scotland’s broadcaster and production company STV has expanded its STV Player service. Since Friday the catch-up service has been accessible on Samsung Apps offering Samsung Smart TV owners in Scotland the full suite of catch-up services.

The addition of the STV Player App to Samsung Smart TV means viewers within the STV licence areas of Scotland will never miss their favourite programmes and content, including Coronation Street and Britain’s Got Talent which are available to view free of charge for 30 days.

Viewers can also catch up on the latest news and discussions with STV News at Six and Scotland Tonight.

640,000 people use the STV Player each month and since its launch in October 2012 the STV Player App on iOS and Android has been downloaded over 400,000 times.

Currently offered across a range of platforms, including the web, YouView, Playstation 3, Apple tablets and smartphones, Android tablets and smartphones, and Windows 8 tablets and PCs, the STV Player App is now available to Samsung Smart TV customers.

Viewers to ITV in Scotland can download the STV Player App from the Smart Hub on your Samsung Smart TV. STV operates two ITV regions in the country, STV North and STV Central.
