BBC Radio Stoke’s Paula White apologises for being tiddly on air
Audio of the BBC Radio Stoke presenter’s show became an internet hit as Paula White slurred her way through a full half hour before anyone at the beeb pulled the plug.
The presenter, who has worked for the corporation for nearly seven years, said sorry for embarrassment caused to family, friends and colleagues from the incident which happened on her final afternoon show of May the 10th.
Speaking to Radio Stoke’s morning programme White said she was sorry for her behaviour and unprofessional performance on her last show.
“After six-and-a-half years… it was a terrible error of judgment to go on air that day,” she noted, adding, “The past few months have been difficult and if you’re a regular to my show, you’ll know I tend to wear my heart on my sleeve but that day, in hindsight, I should not have sat down to do the show.”
The DJ thanked her listeners for their ‘support’ over the embarrassing incident which became a Twitter titter following a recording of the incident being shared.
“I’ve caused a great deal of embarrassment to my family, friends and colleagues and I’d like to apologise to them.” she concluded.
The beeb have stated the presenter will be returning, minus the alcohol, to a Saturday morning programme at some point in the future.
“Its the biggest free publicity the BBC station has had in years surely, they should raise a glass – or in Paula’s case six – in celebration of the free plugs.” Says critic Queenie.
