Actress Gillian Taylforth to marry
Hollyoaks actress and former EastEnders star Gillian Taylforth is set to marry for the first time.
Gillian, who proved a popular housemate on this years Celebrity Big Brother, was proposed to three weeks ago by Dave Fairbairn and The Sunday Mirror reports the actress was delighted to accept.
Unlike her Walford alter ego Kathy Mitchell, this will be the soap actress’s first trip down to the altar.
Gillian is delighted. She is so in love. She found it hard to find love again after splitting with former fiancé Geoff Knights but couldn’t be happier now. She is desperately hoping it works out. – A source revealed.
Gillian reportedly began dating ex-con Dave in July 2012 – both 57, the couple live in Cheshire.
The actress recently signed up to Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks where she plays matriarch Sandy Roscoe, a mother of five. Speaking in February she said of the role:
I am really looking forward to joining Hollyoaks, which is going from strength to strength under Bryan Kirkwood at the moment.
My real family are excited to move up to Liverpool – a fantastic city – and I’m eager to meet my new family, five hunky Hollyoaks sons who I’m sure will all be saints! – Gillian Taylforth.
As well as her long-running role as Kathy in EastEnders, Taylforth has previously starred in ITV dramas Footballers Wives, and The Bill.
