Ian’s attempt to blackmail Carl backfires in EastEnders
The Beale isn’t having a winning streak.
EastEnders Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) couldn’t believe his luck when he found £10k stashed beneath the foundations of his new restaurant.
But he wasn’t smiling for long when the owner of the money, Kirsty Branning’s (Kierston Wareing) bad boy ex Carl White (Daniel Coonan), crawled out of the woodwork.
Derek Branning (Jamie Foreman) – the previous occupier of the site – had been keeping the money safe for Carl until he was released from prison.
Savvy Carl soon sussed that Ian was responsible for the missing money and began extorting it back from him in instalments. However, in a forthcoming episode Ian thinks he has found a way to get Carl off his back.
After Abi (Lorna Fitzgerald) fills him in on Kirsty and Carl’s history, Ian realises that Carl wants Kirsty back and decides to use this information as leverage – hinting to Carl that he could tell Kirsty what he’s been up to.
Unfortunately for Ian, his plan backfires and Carl issues a threat of his own….
