Katy Cavanagh celebrates birth of third child

Coronation Street actress Katy Cavanagh, who plays Julie Carp in the ITV soap, has celebrated the birth of their third child.

The actress, who has appeared as Julie since 2008, gave birth to her latest child at home. With filmmaker husband Chris Jupe they have named the baby boy Jacobi.

The Sun reports that the couple opted to for a home birth with the assistance of company Independent Midwives UK, which is not connected to the NHS

It’s vital women have a choice of who cares for them during pregnancy and birth. I have nothing but praise for the NHS but they were unable to provide me with a known midwife or guarantee the birth of my choice. – Cavanagh is quoted by the newspaper.
